A Guide for Crafting an Unforgettable Marriage Proposal

Written by:  Rex

Flash mob proposals, Eiffel tower proposals, ring on platter proposals; we’ve seen it all, or have we? There have been so many unique marriage proposals, and sometimes, that’s what makes it so hard to come up with fresh ideas. Plus, there are so many things to consider; do you make it a private or public affair? How do you keep it a secret, do you include family, or hire a planner? It’s stressful even thinking about it, right?

Well, here’s the thing, it doesn’t have to be so complicated, if you plan it all well and consider some essential things, the proposal is more likely to be fail-proof. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s delve into the business of the day and discuss the vital tips for crafting the most memorable marriage proposal.

1. Ask for permission.

Asking for her parents’ approval might sound traditional, but most people prefer to tread this path for respect. If it’s on your schedule, visit or video-call them explaining your intentions. It’s best to have their permission and blessing before going ahead with the proposal plans. It shows real commitment and dedication to the relationship.

2. Chose the perfect ring.

Some guys would rather propose first before the fine jewelry comes into the scene. Remember, for clarity, you have to figure out what ring size she wears before buying or ordering an engagement ring. At this point, you either have an idea of what she’ll like (be it yellow gold rings, vintage rings, or gemstones), or you can ask a friend or a sister to help you out.

Search for engagement rings in Portland; they are glamorous and cost-efficient. You can even look for jewelers in the city you’re in; there are so many affordable vendors to consider. Remember, the wedding ring is what makes engagements even more special. You don’t have to empty your bank account for your fiancĂ© to be; rather, opt for a jewelry store that offers classy and unique rings.

3. Be spontaneous.

February 14th, now that’s a popular date we are all well acquainted with; it’s like the certified day of love. Apart from gift-giving and intimate dates, what’s can we say is more common about this day? Marriage proposals! It’s no sin to propose to your girlfriend on this day, but if you have a surprise proposal planned, this day is a bit obvious.

People naturally expect their boyfriends to do something big on holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Valentine’s day. For example, a romantic gesture that will blow them away. So, proposing on this day may not be as memorable as you’d like it to be, especially since so many other people would be doing the same.

4. Get a theme that your lady would love.

So, this is a no-brainer, there’s no point looking for a theme that suits you when it’s supposed to be something both of you can relate to. Incorporate your lady’s favorite colors, food, music, and even movie themes as well.

5. Get creative.

So, there’s a new restaurant in town, and it’s so apparent everyone would want to propose there. It’s time to get creative; in this case, don’t go with the flow. Think about something your girl always talks about or a special place that means something to both of you. The first place you met, the first apartment, her favorite destination, or even historical locations.

Certainly, a long successful marriage does not depend on how great the marriage proposal was. However, starting the union with an unforgettable marriage proposal will make things sweeter and more memorable.
