It is one of the most popular places to visit especially its summit which gives breathtaking views of Rio. You can also take an adventurous ride in a cable car running between Sugar Loaf and Morro da Urca. It is said that Rio’s first people start laying their houses just below these peaks at the Praia da Urca beach. Now, you can visit some of the historic forts here including Fort São João.

Cristo Redentor

Whenever the name of Brazil is heard, Cristo Redentor is the first thing which comes in one’s mind. This 30-meter tall statue with 28 meters arms outstretched is also one of the seven wonders in the world. Built by Polish-French sculptor Paul Landowski and Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, this was completed in 1931 and stands tall at 709-meter height. The huge statue is a symbol of humanity and is the colossal Art Deco statue of Christ, called Cristo Redentor. The statue is located in the Tijuca National Park of Rio de Janeiro and is an architectural icon of Brazil.

Carnaval

Rio’s pre-Lenten Carnaval is famous among everyone- whether be locals or tourists.  The color, the music, the excitement Carnaval offers is unmatchable with so much action and drama going over. It is like a street party where one can watch colorful parades, Samba dance performances. The long series of grandstand boxes, Sambódromo offers seats at the ringside where different dancers and musicians competing with each other showcase their unique stuff. Not only the Carnival at Rio, but you can also find some amazing carnivals in Salvador, Bahia, Recife, and many other cities of Brazil.

Iguaçu Falls

Ever seen a river dropping? Just at the point where three countries- Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina meet, the Iguaçu River forms a semicircle and drops down generating 247 waterfalls. The water comes out loud and touches down bang-on. Also, the river becomes thin just above the falls which makes it drop even louder. The waterfalls are even 100 meters high and give such a beautiful panoramic view of the nature flowing at its best. You can take a walk around them and head to the tower which gives a broader view of the area. Try to go to the bridge which takes you to the Garganta do Diabo (Devil’s Throat).

Copacabana

Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana is another place to stroll in the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. With white sand on one sand, you can see how nature meets the urban culture. Moreover you can book hotel near to this place by using Goibibo Offers. The beach is separated by a broad promenade paved in a black and white mosaic from the city’s buildings and traffic. The same pattern can be seen in the streets of the capital city of Portugal, Lisbon. Most people tend to go to the beach for swimming, sunbathing or relaxing- it is another famous place in the city. Try to take a stroll there and you will have one of the best street times at the road- where one side resides beach and another side is tall buildings.

Brazil’s former capital has the Cidade Alta (Upper Town) which has been named as a UNESCO World Heritage site- all thanks to its 17th and 18th-century colonial buildings. Pelourinho is where you will find some of the most beautiful churches and monasteries which were built a long time back- the time when Brazil was the source of Portugal’s riches. Built in the early 1700s, São Francisco is one of the most beautiful churches in the place. You can see some marvelous work of architecture and detailing in the church which will leave you fascinated for sure.
