5 Things You Shouldn’t Miss Out During Your LA Winter Trip

Written by:  Rex

Winter is a great time for vacations for Americans, even when the holiday season ends. But you may miss the warm beaches and pleasant climate when temperatures dip at this time of the year. However, choosing the right destination sets you up for an enjoyable trip. Los Angeles is an ideal one to visit because it offers a host of winter-friendly activities for residents and tourists alike.  So get your bucket list ready with some research before landing in LA for your holiday this season. Here is a list of things you must absolutely not miss out on during a winter trip to the city.

Relax on the beach

While the beachside seems to be a better choice for summer vacations, you can relax on the beach in LA winters. The water is cold, so you can skip the dip during the season. But you will love the vibe and the crowds there as everyone wants to enjoy the experience. Air temperatures in the city stay around 70 degrees at this time of the year. So you can wear a comfy sweatshirt and have fun on the beach.

Go on a hike

Hiking is one of the favorite activities for tourists and locals in Los Angeles. But climbing up into the hills can make you sweaty and uncomfortable on summertime days. The views are incredible and the winter weather is just right for a hike. But before you plan one, make sure to check the forecast for the cooler temperatures and rain. Also, have enough warm layers on to stay cozy.

Plan a whale-watching experience

Whale watching is an ideal mix of the outdoors, wildlife, and sea, so it deserves to be on your wishlist. The best thing about Los Angeles whale watching tours is that they are relevant in pandemic times when social distancing is the need of the hour. Moreover, you can choose the time of the day that suits you the best. Morning slots are great if you want to spot more whales, while afternoons are ideal for family tours in winter.

Go skiing at a nearby mountain resort

How can a winter vacation be complete without having fun skiing on the slopes? You have a chance to do it during your LA break if you are willing to embark on a bit of a drive. Several ski resorts are close enough for a comfortable day’s drive from the city. It takes only three hours to reach Mountain High, Snow Valley, and the twin slopes of Snow Summit and Bear Mountain.

Visit the city museums

LA has something for everyone, even history buffs who prefer to spend the cold days in a cozy museum building.  The city has many free museums, so you can visit them without pressing your vacation budget. The good thing about visiting them in winters is that you can steer clear of the throngs of summer crowds. You have a chance to catch up on some winter exhibitions as well.

Los Angeles is an incredible city that offers a lot, summer or winter. Pick this perfect mix of activities for your cold-weather trip to have a memorable one this season.
