5 KETO FOODS YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE IN YOUR FRIDGE

Written by:  Rex

Having successfully lost a ton of weight over the years using keto, I consider myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to certifying things. I have made keto versions of all my favourite foods. As long as you are willing to get imaginative and creative, and with help from the great master google, you can satisfy any food cravings and still lose weight. But, success on keto depends mainly on having the right foods at hand at all times so you are not inclined to eat non keto rubbish when hunger strikes. Here are a few things you should stock up in your refrigerator if you are going keto.

EGGS
Eggs are one of the most complete foods found in natures. They are high protein and free of carbs or sugar. Some people are still cautious about eggs and use only the egg whites, however, on keto you are encouraged to eat the whole egg and get the complete nutritional benefit of this wonder food.

If you are trying to get healthy by going keto, eggs are a fabulous go-to for any meal, be it breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a snack, so stock up on eggs. The key is to use fresh eggs that are preferably organic. Buy them in bulk and you will save yourself a pretty penny, just make sure that you know how to tell if an egg is good and buy fresh. Eggs are versatile and can be cooked in many ways adding variety to your meals.

BUTTER

Everything tastes better with butter. One of the perks of keto is that you can enjoy almost unlimited amounts of butter. Butter, especially if you choose organic grass-fed butter, is an anti-inflammatory and is high in Vitamin A, among other nutrients. You can add butter to steamed vegetables, instantly raising the flavour profile. You can also make a variety of sauces to get that daily requirement of good fat to keep your body in ketosis.

CHICKEN (OR OTHER MEAT)

I say chicken here but it is easy and quick to cook, but I always stock up on all kinds of meat. Bulk buying meat and freezing them in individual portion sizes ensures that I always have my proteins at hand. I recommend all cuts of chicken, be in bone-in or boneless, beef, pork, fish and shrimp. As long as I have a good selection of meats, I know that I can keep most cravings at bay.

FRESH AND FROZEN VEGETABLES

There are a few staple veggies that you will always find in my fridge. These are broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, zucchini, and green chillies. If I have these, and my protein, I can make a delectable keto dinner at any time. Plus, veggies are good for you and can add flavour and variety to an otherwise boring meal.

CHEESE

While cheese is to be had in moderation, I always keep a variety of hard and soft cheeses in my fridge. Cheese is delicious and can sometimes be the winning factor that makes a keto dish truly sublime.
