5 Ideas for a Fun Family Night In

Written by:  Rex

It’s always fun to go out for the night on a fun adventure. However, some of the best adventures can be had in the comfort of your home. Save money and have many laughs by setting up fun activities to do for a fun family night in without ever getting bored. We have five ideas that are sure to please the whole family!

When the kids are in bed and it’s your time, unwind by logging on to casino 777. Play your favorite casino games without having to leave home to travel to your local casino.

1. Movie Night

With as many streaming services as Americans have nowadays, there are many movies available to watch for the whole family. Disney Plus and Netflix are one of the top streaming service options with so many family movies to choose from.

Even if you do not subscribe to cable or streaming services, you can rent DVD or Blu-Ray movies from RedBox kiosks in your community. Alternatively, you can stop by your local library to rent DVDs with your library card completely free.

Pop some popcorn or grab your favorite snacks, hop on the couch, and enjoy the film and one another’s company!

2. Board Game Night

Dust off the Scrabble, Monopoly, and Connect Four board games from your closet and have a fun and interactive game night with your family. Board games increase one’s strategic and critical thinking. Plus, board game night can help you and the kids to escape the clutches of technology just for one night.

3. Video Game Bonanza

This family activity helps to work on your children’s hand-eye coordination, teamwork skills, and healthy competitive nature. Pick a video game console, make sure you have enough gaming controllers, and select a game that allows multiple players.

Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and other Nintendo classic favorites are great for racing and family-friendly fighting games that keep it PG for younger children. To keep it fair, have everyone vote on two possible games, and the one that receives the most votes will be the game played first during Video Game Bonanza night.

4. Art Night

Art encompasses self-expression, so the whole family expresses themselves by making art in the medium they choose. Spread out all the art supplies on one table and have workstations set up at easels and desks.

Family members can choose to sketch a picture, make a sculpture out of clay, a diorama out of household items, or paint a picture. The possibilities are endless! Keep with the theme by having cupcakes or cookies available as snacks after dinner so that everyone can decorate themselves with their favorite icing and candies.

5. Camping in the Living Room or Backyard

Set up camp in the living room or backyard, depending on the equipment and weather that you have. For living room camping, have a children’s pop-up tent with a sleeping bag for the little ones.

Cook up some hamburgers, hotdogs, and potato salad to set the camping mood. Don’t forget chocolate bars and graham crackers to go with the marshmallows to make s’mores.

If you want to do camping in your backyard, plan to be sure it does not rain that night. For extra protection, have a weatherproof tent for everyone. Bring out an air mattress for comfortable sleeping arrangements and plenty of blankets and pillows to feel at home.

If you have a fire pit, roast marshmallows from there. Worst case scenario, you can roast marshmallows over your gas stove’s range.

Final Thoughts

Family night is fun no matter what activity you do together. We hope that this activity list inspired you!
