4 Ways to Spice Up Your Marriage Even After Having Children

Written by:  Jamie

Marriage is a beautiful thing. Finding that person to “have and to hold” for the rest of your life is something everyone should experience. And after marriage comes children! Having kids and watching them grow is yet another beautiful and fulfilling life experience to cherish forever.

But more often than not, that initial spark and passion at the early stages of a marriage fades. This is normal for any relationship; the honeymoon phase can only last so long. It is possible, however, to rekindle that spark and focus once again on your relationship. Here are four things you can do to spice up your relationship, even if kids are in the mix.

Try to go on a date at least once a month

This may seem like an impossible task depending on your schedules and how many little ones you have running around. But the most important aspect of rekindling that spark is to start the dating process all over again.  Call grandma or the babysitter in your neighborhood to set up a date night every once in a while, even going to see some comedy in Covent Garden can spice up the relationship. If a weekend getaway is possible, that is even better!

Setting time aside to get to know each other again is an important part of any relationship, married or not. But with kids, you often immerse yourselves so heavily into their lives and focus all of your attention on them. Forget about the kids for a night or two and focus your attention on each other instead.

Take risks together

This may sound silly, but a great way to spice up the relationship is to take a risk together. Try something new in the bedroom, book flights to a tropical destination, go out for a night on the town, or head to the casino for the evening. If you can’t find a babysitter, you can even hop on an online gambling website.

The online gambling world is a new concept, but doing something adrenaline-inducing together like this can stimulate the relationship in new ways. Basically how it works is you invest in cryptocurrencies like Dash, decide how much to bet, and start playing your game of choice! There are several options for cyber currencies, but the best available dash options can be found here.

Cook dinner together as much as possible

When you’re not having date nights, do your best to spend some time each evening cooking your family meal together. Even if you hate to cook, try it out once in a while! If you still hate it, no worries. At least do your best to eat dinners as a family when it’s possible – even if this means ordering pizza or take out.

Find time to exercise and be active together

Studies have shown that couples who workout together have a better shot at making it. There are several reasons for this. Not only does exercise make you a happier person overall and increase endorphins, it is beneficial to achieve goals together. Focusing on a shared goal – like fitness – will strengthen the relationship. Another perk of exercising together? It improves your sex life!
