10 Things You Need in a Makeup Kit for Beginners

On average, women spend at least 11 minutes putting on makeup. Of course, there are those who will spend up to an hour on the activity. Whether you can do it faster or not is not a big deal. The important thing is to enjoy every second.

Society has been struggling with the acceptance of women who wear makeup for long. In fact, evidence of women and men using makeup dates back to 10,000 B.C in Egypt. It was just ointments at first, then Kohl. Clay and dyes followed. It was a smooth ride from there, and things only got better.

Nonetheless, the makeup world is confusing to a beginner because of the sea of items in the market. If you are facing such a dilemma, just pick the safe teen makeup items listed below for your makeup kit and you will be good to go:

1) Eyeshadow palette

Your makeup kit will not be complete without an eyeshadow palette. You do not need more than one as a beginner. Choose a palette with neutral colours because they match well with all clothes.

To ace makeup as a beginner, start with the cool colours and once you are comfortable, get the bolder colours. Whatever you do, don’t mix them haphazardly. You will be the nightmare of all women who love makeup.

2) Concealer and foundation

To avoid a caked-on foundation, use an opaque concealer. It also hides any imperfections allowing you to use less of the product. When applied well, no one will know where your skin natural skin ends and makeup begins.

A concealer awakens the area under your eyes too. For those mornings you wake up with an annoying pimple, you can make it invisible with a dash of concealer.

3) Spoolie brush and eyebrow pomade

Eyebrows can bring all the other features on your face to life in an instant. Do them wrong and you will look like a clown. You need a dual-sided eyebrow brush to sculpt the perfect arches. A pomade comes in handy to accentuate the arches. It does not smudge and it is also easy to apply. It is a resourceful item in a makeup kit for beginners.

4) Primer and moisturizer

For a great finish, your skin should be well moisturized. For the makeup to last long, you need a primer. The duo gives you a flawless base too for easier application of the other products.

5) Bronzer/Blush Duo

A bronzer and blush can add colour and life to the skin. You should get a compact with both to reduce the load in your makeup kit.

6) Lipstick and Gloss

Even without using other beauty products on your face, you will look more beautiful once you put on gloss and lipstick. This is the most basic makeup essential. Go for colours you are comfortable with.

Nude colours will make you attractive without drawing unwanted attention to your lips. However, don’t feel intimidated to splash screaming red lipstick on. Done right, no one will know you are a beginner in wearing makeup. Whatever your likes are, include at least one bold colour that you wouldn’t normally choose. It will be your dare during those days you feel like daring life itself.

7) Makeup brushes

When it comes to makeup brushes, you can never have too many. No matter how basic your makeup kit it, you need brushes. To reduce the amount you spend in buying them, get a set. Learn how to use them, and clean them regularly. The easiest way to ruin your face is to use dirty makeup brushes.

8) Eyeliner and mascara

An eyeliner can give you those Barbie doll eyes you desire, or the witch look. There is so much you can do with the eyeliner. For starters, invest in a black one. The pencil should be retractable.

Mascara adds volume to your eyelashes to make them look bigger and longer. You do not need to struggle with fake lashes if you have the right mascara. Whatever you do, don’t it get in your eyes or cry. It is the easiest way to make you a scary witch.

9) Makeup wipes

Not every product will stay in line during application. You need wipes to dab on the excess to erase errors instantly. They are resourceful too when you want to change from day to night makeup without having to wash the entire face. Make sure they are soft and effective to avoid the struggle of vigorous rubs which leave you exhausted and with a reddened face. Click here for the best wipes.

10) Makeup remover

No matter which kind of makeup you wear, it has to come off at the end of the day. If there is a rule you should remember in wearing makeup, never sleep without removing it. It gives the skin room to breathe and rejuvenate.

A good makeup remover will be your best friend when you come home late or exhausted.

With these tools, your transition to the makeup world will be pretty easy, and you will have the best outcome.
