Happy Fourth Birthday Aram!
You are so so loved.
On this day, you had your (very scary) early start at life:
But look at you now!
NOW THAT is worth celebrating!
Barack Hussein Obama was quoted at the Al Smith dinner saying, “I got my name from somebody who obviously didn’t think I’d ever run for president.”
Clearly, it didn’t stand in his way.
However, a study in 2009 concluded that boys with unpopular names are more likely to break the law:

“Also, adolescents with unpopular names may be more prone to crime because they are treated differently by their peers, making it more difficult for them to form relationships,”
Aram jumped off the bed and hurt his foot. To the point where he couldn’t put any pressure on it.
We gave him a night to recover (per Brian’s orthopedic surgeon brother’s orders) and when he woke up he still was acting like a lame duck.
Off we went to the doctor.
My OCD comes out the most at trips to the doctor. During flu season… *shudder*
So here are my tips for staying safe when a visit is unavoidable.… Keep Reading!!!
The past week I have woken up to the most random scenes:
Which leads up to this morning. I woke up to Samuel locked in his room…except Samuel’s door doesn’t have a lock.… Keep Reading!!!
Dinosaur Train is such a fun show for kids, and also touches on adoption and transracial adoption. Buddy (the main character) is a different kind of dinosaur than the rest of his family.
When I was little, up until I had Aram, I wanted a girl.
I would like to say that when I was pregnant I didn’t care what the gender of my baby was, but that would be a lie.
I think I was completely freaked out when I found out Aram was a boy. I knew nothing about little boys.
My mind consists of pink sparkly princess thoughts. What the heck are little boys like?
Then, Aram was born.

I was speaking to a woman the other day who said she was so sad she never had taken a picture of her breastfeeding her child. There is no going back once it is over.
That inspired me to take some extended breastfeeding photos. My mother has some of me, and I’m so glad she took them. I wanted the same for my children.
You always hear people say, “if they can ask for it they are too old.”
I’ll … Keep Reading!!!
I’d like everyone to meet Jenny!
My daughter joined our family via adoption when she was 10 months old. I had followed the Newman-Goldfarb Protocols for Induced Lactation for the previous 12 months so that I’d be able to breastfeed her. I amazed both my husband and myself when I was able to bring in a significant milk supply by the time we traveled to Ethiopia to … Keep Reading!!!
I saw child yoga mats the other day and though it was so stupid.
Now I’m thinking about going out and buying it.
I’m back tracking a little, but we had a GREAT Easter!
On Saturday night we attended an Ethiopian Easter service in Oakland, California.
My grandma and cousin decided to join us.
Trying to be as multicultural as possible, we decided to go with Chinese food for dinner before the service:
When we got to the church everyone was dressed in their white clothes (including Samuel, Lori, Grammy, … Keep Reading!!!
Oh it is a new day… even The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is sharing positive breastfeeding images.
It’s really for everyone, but our boys love it. Plus, it is simple and fun to make with kids!
Brian: Your Facebook page makes no sense anymore. Me: Was there ever a time that it did? Brian: No, seriously… It is your name, but it says..
Whoa! Pregnant ladies of the group- look at what is going on inside of you right now! It never ceases to amaze me. If you haven’t already, you..
