Summary of Our Ethiopia Trip and Video

Below is a video using mostly candid and non-professional images of our time in Ethiopia.

You will see all the professional coverage in various media outlets soon. We are so excited different projects are showing interest in what is going on over in Awassa, Ethiopia.

Thank you to everyone featured in this video:

Lori Dorman- For giving your time and family photography skills to really capture the spirit of children and mothering in the area.

Anthony Fiorin-For your mad videographer/photojournalism/and production skills.

Terry and J.D and Jessica at Destination Southern Africa- For the philanthropic endeavors taken on in Ethiopia, as well as being on top of every bizarre travel change we had to make in country.

Ethiopian Airlines- For supporting our group, and giving back to a country so rich in culture and community that has captured all of our hearts.

Kyle LaMere- For being the OG photographer on this trip and showing us how it is done.

Paul Perry- For being our resident rockstar and introducing Hybrid Apparel to the Awassa Children’s Project, where in turn they have supplied enough t-shirts to cloth hundreds of children.

Jill Clinton- For being awesome.

Dr. Jay Gordon- For bringing 100lbs of much needed medical supplies to the area. I witnessed how many lives you saved in the few days we were there and that was only faintly touching on the impact the supplies will have on the community. You are my hero.

Paul Chadha- For taking the time to invite us out and show us what you guys are all about.

  1. Inspiring. And, on a personal level, I’m so glad that you finally got to go and that you got to see birth family and birth home as well as making a difference. You are making me very antsy to go back, too!

Hi, I was just wondering how can I get involved with going to Africa, Ethiopia , all across the world to help out? I love everyone and I also like to help people if I can, do you know how I can? and I’ve seen you on good morning America and on the cover of time magazine and I would like to tell you don’t worry about those people who has ridiculed you. People has talked about jesus Christ, so with that being said you continue to be a great mom. Blessings to you and your family.

    • Hey LeDora. Thank you for those very sweet words. I appreciate them, and you’re right, if people criticize you look around, you’re in good company! However, fall off the map in comparison to Jesus (thank goodness, or he would be majorly disappointing).

Check out the Awassa.org volunteer page! If you have any questions you can write them or feel free to comment on here and we’ll figure out what is the best fit for you.
