So, do you drink Mojitos? I just have to ask since you’re breastfeeding and all.

Good question! This is why the West needs to be more educated on breastfeeding. Mothers have told me they have weaned ther babies earlier than they wanted because they missed having a glass of wine at night. It is very safe to drink alcohol when pregnant within reason. I would say limit yourself and not become drunk, more because a drunk mother becomes a hazard to caring for their child than the minuscule amount of alcohol secreted from a very drunk woman’s breast. As far as breastfeeding a toddler, they nurse in such short spans and so infrequently ( skipping days at the age my son is) it is a complete non-issue. Again, I wouldn’t parent my children drunk, but I also know enough about human biology and metabolic function to safely consume alcohol as a mother.

oops, I meant while breastfeeding, not pregnant. Although, one glass of wine is accepted as healthy during pregnancy in many countries.

(That’s what I said 2 1/2 years ago when I as prego, exclusively nursing a 10m old then prego again, then ill be tandems nursing.) I just wish my brain would stop asking for them, it knows better dang it!!
