Disneyland now has competition.
We took the boys to the Palm Springs Air Museum.
It has one of the world’s largest collections of flyable WWII aircrafts.
Never in a million years would I have believed Aram and Samuel could spend a whole day here and be entertained. Well, to my surprised that is exactly what happened. The boys were enthralled by all of the fighter planes and the stories that went with each aircraft.
Any history buff or child with a love of airplanes will be in awe of this place.

Looks like fun! My kids love history…it’s full of adventure, courage, action. Places like this are so great, they allow history to come to life! As a history teacher I can say with certainty that an hour spent at a place like this is 20 times more effective them any textbook or worksheet.
love it!
We took the same sort of trip to an aviation museum with our oldest (now 22) years ago. He still remembers it…and he just graduated last week from the Naval Academy – will be heading to flight school in Pensacola in a few months! You just never know what a trip like that might inspire…
I really like your site!
Whitney! Wow! What a great story! Thank you for sharing. With children you really never know what experiences will inspire their choices later in life. You son’s trip to the aviation museum says a lot about how we need to make sure we give our children every opportunity to find their interests, and to dream big. Tell him congratulations and to stay very safe.
