This just happened in Ethiopia.
These photos were taken at the Haile Resort in Awassa prior to the long (and bumpy) road to Argisa. Haile is located on the other side of Lake Awassa from Sister Donna. The lake water is just as dangerous to drink here as it is where she lives. As you can see, it is no longer a problem:
