Kid World Citizen- Helping Young Minds Go Global

My husband and I always knew we wanted to raise our children with a global perspective. We knew we could do this by traveling with our children. However, the education doesn’t need to stop when we are home in the US.

One of the best resources that I’ve discovered which teaches children about other cultures is Kid World Citizen. They have in-depth country information (organized by continent). Get snack ideas and recipes from other cultures, learn how Christmas is celebrated all over the world, and learn about the other holidays and celebrations that are not celebrated in the US.

They even have a section on Jane Goodall *swoon*…

Go check them out and let me know what you think! kidworldcitizen.org.

(Disclaimer: This is NOT a paid post. I was NOT asked to share this information. I honestly love this website and wanted to share it with others. Novel idea, right?)

  1. Thank you for the link! We have an exchange student living with us which opens up the world to our little children. They are amazed and hungry to learn about different cultures, languages, holidays, foods, etc.

  2. Great idea… There is an organization locally called Pebble Tossers that creates volunteer opportunities for children to get involved with helping others around the world (and locally). It is SO important for me that my kids have a sense of their place in the world at large.

Also I’m loving the new blog design.

  3. Given that my husband grew up (part of his life) in Europe, I grew up in Canada, and we have friends and family around the world, we live from a global perspective in many respects. I love this site and can’t wait to implement many of the ideas, projects, and info into our own family life!
