Our whole family is fasting for my mom, right now
Due to certain deadlines I had to switch my fast to cutting out my nightly dessert (dessert is pretty equal with the internet for me)…
Brian gave up red meat
Fasting with children has been such a learning experience for me.
Samuel and Aram both gave up Angry Birds.
We are easing in to having them understand fasting. Right now, they understand when they feel the urge to play the game they should pray for grandma. They are pros at it! Sometimes after they pray I will let them play the game.
They are so little right now I want them to grasp the concept, more than grumpily following it, 100%…
I caught the boys praying for grandma in their room before we went swimming this weekend.
Their words were their own, and it was so cute I tried to make them do again on video so I could send it to my mom.
It was less heartfelt since they were essentially forcing a prayer, but still cute!

Samuel: “Thank you God for Grandma and Grandma’s booby in Jesus’ name, Amen!”
