Children’s Sing Song Yoga Giveaway!

Children’s Sing Song Yoga Giveaway!

Screen Shot 2013-12-18 at 4.03.16 PMToday was a chilly drizzly day so we decided to make some tea and do some yoga for an afternoon activity.

We recently discovered Sing Song Yoga, a series of yoga videos that teach children yoga poses throughmeme2 song.

The creator of Sing Song Yoga, Deb Weiss-Gelmi, is an elementary school teacher, a yoga instructor, and a mom. Which all makes sense when you see Deb in action. This woman has the most soothing presence! After we finished watching the DVD, I pushed replay so I could listen to her voice in the background while I finished some work. She’s like…the Bob Ross of yoga.

We own the Sing Song Yoga DVD, but there is also a new App that allows you to get zen wherever you are. You can customize your session by picking poses that will suit your location, child’s mood, or time limitations (do a full session or just one quick pose).  Also, 10% of the proceeds of the Sing Song Yoga App will be donated to their Charity of the Year.

We are making this a giveaway!

I think yoga is great for kids as it gets them to be active yet relaxes at the same time. We all need relaxation techniques in life.

Absolutely. Anything that gets the kids away from mindless screen watching and gets them moving and participating.

Yoga is great for kids, because it helps them learn listen to and to control their bodies. This helps them physically and emotionally.

I think it is important to teach children to rule their own thoughts, and mindfulness. If they do not control their mind someone else will. Yoga is a great tool for this!

excited about this! definitely want to do yoga with my kiddos one day and as a way to get myself to do it more often. I even created a yoga space for myself and still don’t get around to it…I’m inspired.

I have a class of special needs kids who watch a yoga video each week that would just love a new one to guide them through a practice.

Yoga helps kids focus. The classroom I work in does Sing Song Yoga every week (for the past 4 years). The kids live it.
