We took in the views from our room, splashed water on our faces, and rushed back to the common space to meet for tea and snacks before our evening bush drive.
We met our guide, Andre, and hopped in our safari vehicle in the hopes of seeing some exotic and slightly dangerous creatures in their natural habitat.
Aram hadn’t adjusted to the time so he happily slept during the serene drive.
We saw various animals and then pulled over in the bush where Andre set up a table with snacks and drinks in the picturesque setting. We had a sundowner in the bush and enjoyed every minute of it.
On the way back, the sun had gone down and Andre brought out a beaming light to try to catch the glow of the animal’s eyes. We quickly came upon a male elephant in musth. We sped off as soon as he appeared in front of our vehicle. His eyes were glowing, the black night behind him, and he was making loud trumpeting noises at is. We took the message and did not spend any time admiring him, although the experience was exciting in and of itself.
We came back to our room where we dipped in our plunge pool and then came in to discover a turn-down service. The boys were given water beside their beds and slippers, and we had a new note from our housekeeper wishing us a great adventure in the morning.
We snuggled into bed early enough to make it to our 5AM game drive in the morning!
It was a wonderful day!
